Frequently asked questions
Does the legislature prohibit disclosure of personal information?
Data Protection Inspectorate: The aim of Personal Data Protection Act is to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons upon processing of personal data, above all the right to inviolability of private life. Legal entities as abstract bodies created under the law do not have private life and therefore any related information, including information about members of the board and their personal codes, does not fall within the scope of the Personal Data Protection Act, because this information is not personal, but related to economic activities of the entity. A person who is entered in the public register (Commercial Register) as a member of the board of a legal entity must take into account that the submitted data is available to the public. Disclosure of such information is not prohibited to the third parties.
